n the week ending December 22, 2018, the domestic domesticcrude steel output was 1.87 million short tons, and the capacity utilizationrate was 79.8%. In the same period last year, the output was 1.676 millionshort tons, and the capacity utilization rate was 71.9%. Crude steel outputrose by 11.6% year-on-year and fell by 1.1% on a week-on-week basis. In theweek ending December 15, 2018, the domestic domestic crude steel output was1.89 million short tons, and the capacity utilization rate was 80.6%.
After adjustment, by December 22, 2018, the cumulative crudesteel output in the United States was 93.164 million short tons, the capacityutilization rate was 78.3%, and the cumulative crude steel output rose 6.1%year-on-year. In the same period of 2017, it was 87.807 million short tons and74% respectively.
The weekly crude steel output was divided into 210,000 shorttons in the northeast region, 711,000 short tons in the Great Lakes region,189,000 short tons in the central and western regions, 680,000 short tons inthe south and 8 short tons in the west, totaling 1.87 million short tons.
